Backend Engineer Intern (Agentic AI)

EngineeringRemote (IST)Internship

Autter runs agentic pipelines to analyse every pull request that comes through. We're looking for a backend intern who wants to work close to that layer. You'll help build and maintain the systems that detect blast radius, security vulnerabilities, behavioral regressions, and AI-generated code quality issues. The work is real and the surface area is large.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain backend services in Node.js or Python that power PR analysis
  • Work on agentic orchestration pipelines using LLM APIs
  • Integrate with the GitHub API and process webhook events
  • Write scripts and tooling to support analysis and testing pipelines
  • Help improve the accuracy and speed of existing detection engines

What we're looking for

  • Comfortable with Node.js or Python in a backend context
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and webhooks
  • Curious about how LLMs work and willing to experiment with prompting and tool use
  • Can read a codebase you didn't write and figure out what's happening
  • Available full-time or near full-time (IST)

Nice to have

  • Any experience with LLM API integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  • Familiarity with GitHub Apps or the GitHub API
  • Exposure to Docker or containerised environments
  • Prior work on developer tooling or open source projects

I've seen a lot of codebases. Most teams find out they needed Autter after a bad deploy. What does your PR review process look like right now?
